Alpacas of Shannonshire Acres

Shannonshire Acres is located in El Cajon, CA, a suburb of San Diego.  We are a small, family owned farm on one and a half acres.  We have been in the alpaca business for three years, and are thrilled to have so many animals now!   

Aside from our farm animals, we also have two dogs.  They are Polly, our lovable indoor dog, and Shiloe, our sweet Great Pyranees guard dog.  We are members of 4-H and look forward to learning more about raising animals through that.

 Our Business

      Shannonshire Acres was created to commemorate Shannon, wife and mother, celebrate our love for her, and provide for our daughter’s education.  As we love and care for our alpacas we recall our love for Shannon and keep her close to our hearts. 

     Shannon was diagnosed with colorectal cancer the week after her 40^th birthday.  With two small children to raise it was a devastating blow to her, her family, and to all who knew her.  She had several complications requiring numerous surgeries and many hospitalizations.  Just when things were looking up, the news came that the cancer had spread to her liver and lungs.  The cancer slowly took her strength and finally her life on June 27, 2007.

     What the cancer could not take from Shannon was her indomitable spirit and her love for her daughters.  Shannon stayed strong and positive, revealing her resilient spirit and formidable character.
